ABOUT THE PARAMITO RANCH

The undulated form and shape of the land, the structure of the soil, the height of 1700 to 2100 meters above sea level, the natural water resources which consist of 5 own water springs and the bordering Cherua river, additionally the region’s climate makes it a perfect ranch for a professional coffee cultivation or high-altitude fruits.

Our soil studies show a structure of silt-clay soils with a PH between 4-7%, high in iron and because the soil does not present any previous large scale agricultural it contains quality organic matter.

The set conditions promote a high yield production per hectare for a up to 200 hectare cultivation.

The ranch has its own electricity source produced by a hydraulic turbine located in one of the ravines surrounding the farm, the ranch generator supplies the ranch house with necessary electricity for household appliances and a Wi-Fi decoder.

The Paramito ranch is divided into two land titles, one is 400 hectares and the other 68 hectares, they are sold as one. The lands consist of new forest, virgin forest, 5 hectares of coffee, open landscapes and a small rustic cottage.

LOCATION

Cherúa is located located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta 3 hours by car from Santa Marta and 2 hours from the municipality of Ciénaga in the rural area of ​​the Palmor district, specifically in the “Cherúa” village at 1700 meters above sea level. From Palmor town center it takes 1 hour in a car to reach the ranch entrance. In Cherua families have traditionally dedicated themselves to agriculture and fruit crops such as: blackberry, lulo, cane and coffee, the latter being the main source of economic income in the region. In addition to traditional farming, cattle and tourism are common activities in this area.

Additionally, and no less important, the area is home to multiple reservations of indigenous families, the closest only a 30-minute walk from the farm.
